The Western Development Commission (WDC) is a statutory body established to promote and support economic and social development in Ireland’s western region. With an investment portfolio of over €100 million and extensive expertise in rural development, low-carbon transition and regional policy, the WDC brings critical regional development knowledge and investment experience to the BIOCHAR project, supporting the translation of demonstration results into lasting economic opportunity for communities across the Just Transition region.
